Ömer Faruk Erdoğan

Ömer Faruk's paintings can be described as an innovative understanding of painting in the way they bring a contemporary approach to the traditional arts of the miniature. Technically, he reinterprets the lack of perspective and the divine viewpoint that characterise miniature art as a multiple and shiftable perspective, offering the viewer the chance to redefine their visual perception. In terms of subject matter, by addressing social experiences rooted in personal life — crowded gatherings, dining tables, games and the family dialogues that take place within the home — he produces a kind of memory-driven, socially realistic painting that invites viewers to question and recall their own lives. In his work, Ömer Faruk focuses on pure experience itself, conveying through a new language the emotions that events and situations leave upon and evoke in people.
